Glenelg meetup for family, then McLaren Vale tour

Sarah annually organises for her parents and siblings to meet in Adelaide just prior to Christmas, our city being central, given some of her family being in WA and some in Sydney. Glenelg apartments on the beach was the go, plus a day out in the vines and wines of McLaren Vale, booked with Adelaide Minibus.  They visited a number of wineries including D’arenberg, Wirra Wirra and Paxtons, with a lunch break and boutique beers at The Red Poles.

What a great day it was. The kids even had a turn at being the vavigator for our driver, Wayne

Japanese business people love our city and Adelaide Minibus

It was a day of business and pleasure for this group of Japanese businesspeople. Meetings, meetings, then a drive-by tour of the sights of the city and hills. A hearty lunch at the Hahndorf Inn before needing to catch their flight back to Tokyo. “We will be back with our families soon” they said.

Asian youth and Barossa – first time experience

Twee and her friends had never before experienced a wine region in Australia, let alone the Barossa Valley. They had arranged accommodation at a remote B&B in the hills near Springton and were immediately impressed by the natural bushlands, kangaroos and other wildlife.  Our crystal clear evening skies, the small, quiet towns of the region – and the serenity of open space, had set the scene, but it was going to be a busy day ahead, as they wanted to see as much of the Barossa as possible.

Visits were made to Chateau Barossa, Grant Burge Wines, lunch at Maggie Beers, Eldertons, Wolf Blass, Rockford, Seppeltsfield and Te-Aro Wines. They were most impressed by the wonderful sandstone and ironstone buildings. It was truly a learning experience, their education about wines including the array of varieties of grapes grown and great flavour improvement that occurs by allowing red wines to stand opened, or aerated a little, before drinking.
